Tuesday thru Sunday we fish for Codfish and Haddock

with CAPTAIN JEFF RITTER ( BINGO SPORT FISHING)  going 40-60 miles offshore

to one of the famous Gulf of Maine fishing grounds, commonly

Platts Bank, Three Dory Ridges, Sigsbees or Jeffreys Ledge.

            CAPTAIN JEFF RITTER

Weather permitting; the boat will go where the fish are known to be biting.

These trips are all day due to the distance offshore and are from  6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The price is  $135 per person for up to 14 persons

depending on the location to be fished.

To catch fish of any size these days boats need to go offshore 40 miles or more.

Don't settle for a shorter trip when fishing for Codfish.

                       Fishing Gear

IS provided on our trips if needed. We recommend you have something substantial to fish with.

Bring that stiff rod and up to a Penn 113H  with 50+ lb test line of your choice.

Spectra Braided Line gets down fast and provides the positive hooking pressure

you need at the 180+ ft depths we fish.

Large  Diamond jigs are required for this type of fishing.

Mondays the boat fishes with Captain Joe Rego (Damariscotta River Charters).

Commercially for Bluefin Tuna (limit 4 persons)

CAPTAIN JOE REGO (LEFT IN PICTURE) WITH ONE OF HIS GIANT BLUEFIN TUNAS

CLIENTS WELCOME BY ADVANCE RESERVATION ONLY

Commercial size Bluefin Tuna are now Scarce in the Gulf of Maine; in our opinion due to the recent

Overfishing 0f the Inshore Herring Food Resource by large Midwater Trawlers from away.

There is a limit of 4 clients for offshore TUNA fishing for Safety reasons.

Our contract with you for all  COMMERCIAL Tuna Trips is based on the crew trying

ONLY for a 73" or larger Bluefin Tuna,

with the catch belonging to the boat for Commercial Sale.

We will  NOT be fishing for other species OR SMALLER TUNA on these trips.

On MOST trips these days a Tuna of this Size is NOT caught.

                                                     However,

IF A SELLABLE TUNA OF >73" IS CAUGHT  THE TRIP IS FREE TO THE CLIENTS.

Price is $800 per trip regardless of number of clients up to 4 maximum.

The fee helps offset the costs of the many unsuccessful trips for the boat.

Why still go on a Tuna Trip if the yield is so low and the boat keeps the fish?

The trip allows Participation in Tuna fishing Maine style, and a pleasant offshore day among

                   Whales, Porpoises, Seals and Seabirds,

and there IS that chance the trip will be free.

Shark Fishing (limit 6 persons) on Mondays is also available with CAPTAIN  REGO

                                                   BY ADVANCE RESERVATION ONLY

15 Y/O DAN  BASNIGHT WITH HIS 475 LB THRESHER

Shark trips are  $1200minimum (1-4 persons) plus $100 per additional person (above 4 persons up to 6 total)

for the day for the boat and crew, irrespective of the time on the water, with a typical trip from  0400 HRS to 1400 HRS

$500 non-refundable  deposit required, refundable only if the Captain calls the trip due to weather

or with at least 7 days notice FROM THE CLIENT.

                                          All Fishing Gear Provided.

If a Commercial Size Tuna( 73 inch  or bigger) is incidentally caught

on a Designated Shark trip it belongs to the boat for sale under this arrangement.

If a commercial size tuna is caught and sold the trip is FREE to the clients.
